If you have been keeping up with the news concerning South Sudan, you are aware of how things are deteriorating there.

I have recently received word that our missionaries who served in a northwestern village in South Sudan have had to make the very hard decision to pull out. Situation is just too volatile for them to return. I have included below an edited copy of the post I received informing their prayer supporters of the final decision. Would you please commit to pray for the team (specifics are identified below) and the young believers who will remain?

“We are in need of prayer support. Tomorrow our team members begin their journey to  South Sudan. The time has come for us to move out of South Sudan. There are many reasons for this huge decision-the main ones being that unrest and fighting is creeping into our area as foreigners are being targeted AND that we are needed at this time to lead our team in Uganda. So it is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye (for now, God-willing we will meet again) to our precious Dinka friends that have forever changed our lives. Because things continue to deteriorate in SS-civil war continues to rage and famine has come-the people are desperate. Please continue to pray for the people of South Sudan and that God would protect His people. Pray that the disciples we have made will remain in our Savior’s love and fight to uphold the Gospel-the ABSOLUTE only hope for peace and restoration in their country. Please pray for our team members as they will have a very tough week. So many variables have to line up for their goodbyes and as they close down our compound in the midst of an extremely volatile country. Please pray for favor in the eyes of the officials they’re working with (police, soldiers, government officials). Please pray for divine protection and wisdom from our Lord.”
